All eyes on stock markets after worst week since 2008 l ABC News

[UltraVid id=19 ]affects the economy of course as well we’ve already seen that effect all over the world take a look at these satellite images showing what the sky looked like over China before the outbreak that’s the pollution all that yellow right there and then it just evaporates over the past few weeks as so many factories shut down and of course a lot of ice on Wall Street this morning as the markets open again after the worst week since the financial crisis Rebecca Jarvis joins us now from the New York Stock Exchange mid-morning Rebecca good morning George and we are looking at another volatile day here on Wall Street but perhaps today a more positive one the doubt jumping 200 points at the open this morning after last week the worst for stocks since the financial crisis of 2008 in the span of just five days the Dow falling more than 12 percent as Wall Street tries to account for the impact the economic impact of this coronavirus and all the uncertainty there a number of companies have now responded here in the US to those fears Nike for example out of an abundance of caution over the weekend closing its global headquarters in Oregon for what it said would be a deep cleaning on their corporate campus meantime Twitter JP Morgan Amazon among the companies who have now restricted travel for employees and told their employees if it’s not essential do not get on an airplane at least in the near future now we look ahead to what happens at the Port of Los Angeles where we’ve seen shipments there drop 25 percent in February TJ Wow Rebecca thank you so much hi everyone George Stephanopoulos here thanks for checking out the ABC News YouTube channel if you’d like to get more videos show highlights and watch live event coverage click on the right over here to subscribe to our Channel and don’t forget to download the ABC News app for breaking news alerts thanks for watching
