Are we living in a simulation? Neil deGrasse Tyson explains.

[UltraVid id=1 ]Elon Musk says that we’re living in a simulation he’s not the only person that theorizes this basically we’re in a video game being controlled by higher beings and we’re all just like in Super Mario Brothers yes I wish I had a good argument against that hypothesis and I do not so you think it’s very you think it’s problem if you if you’re playing Mario yeah I’m for Mario and there is jumping right now it’s 4:00 at night Hank no 49 okay if whatever is your again if whatever is your game if you were in there and you’re a scientist you would be exploring the rules that apply to that game right how high can you jump how fast a bullets fly and you make a cannon of laws of physics that would be your world and then you want you wonder am i real or am I not if now watch someone programs a universe and in there they gain maturity and technology and then they program a universe then they program our universe so you can have nested simulated universes all the way down but there’s only one real universe not throw a dart at all those universes which one are you most likely to hit a simulated universe so 10 weeks I wish I had a good argument against it and I do not so wild wild like a man getting together and nine months later baby and being born and that’s a theory that has been out that’s exactly what the programmer program universe is under no obligation to make sense to you hmm right okay [Applause] the universe is mad at me we hit the streets of Chicago to see what questions people have with you a person on the street question here we go I’ll let the people talk while you in the North so distant future could the moon be the hottest vacation spot can we moon be a vacation yes all right I don’t see why not if the solar system turns into our backyard we have access to it you save up for a few of your other vacations for that trip I would totally do it and the problem is while the restaurants would be really good there they have no atmosphere hashtag bad astrophysicist Joe Neal any time man thank you
